Religion

Roman Catholicism is the major religious group, comprising 80% of the total population. Islam comes in second with 8 percent, Church comes in third with 6 percent and comprising a small number of believers of other Christian groups like the United Church of Christ and the Seventh-Day Adventists are in the city as well.

The Cathedral of San Nicolas de Tolentino is the center of the Diocese of Mati  under the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Davao or  DADITAMA.
